Harold Joseph Walter Jr., 68 of Chatham, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at his home.
He was born on April 6, 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio to Harold J. and Eleanor (Yaczko) Walter.
He attended West High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1966, serving in Korea and Vietnam.
Following his military service, he went to a technical college to further his education. In 1978 he formed J&H Electric, and in 2001 formed the Harold Walter Electric Service Company from which he retired in 2006.
He mentored many young electricians over the years, and was a father figure to a number of his children's friends.
He enjoyed fishing, working on his property, and restoring vintage tractors.
He was an advocate of veterans and disabled veterans, having been a lifetime member of the Brunswick VFW, as well as a current member of the Chatham VFW, and Fraternal Order of the Cooties.
Surviving are his wife Thelma (nee Adams)
Daughter, Melissa (Erik) Coe of Lodi
Sons, Joseph (Kellie) Walter of Brunswick
Frank (Kelly) Walter of Chatham
John (Lauren) Walter of Grafton
Grandchildren, Derrick, Taylor, Gavin, and Reagan Walter; Cameron and MacKenzie Nutter; and Brier and Breken Coe.

Many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 10, at 11:30 AM at the Parker Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, OH (330-948-1122).
Pastor Mark Teal will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 9, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
